Competitive Nature Promotes Progress!

If you ever get to know me, you will find that I am rather competitive.  Accordingly, I like to make sure that I do things well (and hopefully better than many).  I challenged a friend to a competition of followers.  

She is a blogger.  I am (primarily) a YouTuber.  As of 8:15 P.M. on February 4, 2011(!), she has 102 followers on Blogger.  As of 8:15 P.M. on February 4, 2011, I have 9 subscribers on YouTube.  She told me that it is easier to get followers on Blogger than it is to get subscribers on YouTube.  Of course, I wanted to prove her wrong.  

I told her that I would have more subscribers than she has followers by the END OF JULY 2011.  She does NOT believe that i can do it.  Hmph, what can I say?  IT'S ON... LIKE A SCONE!

I'm going to do this fairly and square(ly?).  I'm not going to say anything bad about her blog (especially because I think it looks pretty spiffy and attractive for female bloggers), AND I am going to post a link to her blog on my blog.  http://fabulousfinds4.blogspot.com/  If you are a female, I definitely recommend exploring her blog.

Inspired by a Quote? New Goal

Although I originally said that getting subscribers was not one of my goals.  Well, it wasn't.  However, upon reconsideration and with the passing of time, I realized that what is the point of taking the trouble to maintain a YouTube channel, blog, Twitter, and Facebook page for fans if there aren't any fans?  Accordingly, I figured that  I should do something about this.

Additionally, I found a quote yesterday.  (I don't know who said it.)

Winners are patient; they know that a goal is only as worthy as the EFFORT required to achieve it.

I found this and shared it with a couple of friends.  I was trying to apply to what I thought was a very appropriate situation.  Now, I want to apply to my personal situation in making videos.  My goal?  I want to have 100,000 subscribers by the end of 2013.  And, I believe that the world WILL NOT literally end in 2012 so I am setting my deadline at the end of 2013.  haha

This does not mean that I am going to spam people everywhere I can.  I hate the "sub 4 sub" deal that so many YouTubers claim that they offer.  I don't believe in this idiotic deal because I think that my subscribers should actually like my videos.  You don't like my videos - fine - don't subscribe.  If someone likes my video, he/she should subscribe.  I want to reach 100,000 the right way, not through sub for sub or whatever other crap there is out there.

Wish me luck and I hope you all make worthy goals.  I know my goal will take a tremendous amount of effort to achieve.  Will yours?  Respond in a comment if you want to!

Snowball "Fight"

Well, here's a snow ball fight for anyone who sees this!  A few highlights slowed down at the end!  Plus a celebration!  I attempted to juggle snowballs...

The only rule was that we had to stay behind our "forts".  We didn't really have forts, but we originally planned to make two of them.  However, we lacked the patience haha.  This "fight" occurred after we were outside for like two hours.  Well, what can I say?  Snow is fun...

Developing Idea: "__ Things That Don't Like Stop-Motion" or "Impossible Three Card Monte"

I have a new idea for a video!  This one doesn't really have a plot.  Instead, I'm simply creating a giant list of things to include in the video.  The idea behind this video is certain things cannot be captured well through stop-motion.  That is, the concept would be incredibly difficult to catch.

For example, the Three Card Monte is pointless in stop-motion because isn't the fun of it in watching the hands move?  With stop-motion, the hand moves are lost incredibly easily and so that version wouldn't work so well.  BUT, that is the point of this video.

COMMENT to suggest anything that you'd like to see in this video.  Suggest something like a pinwheel turning, or whatever you like!

Oh, also, I'm seriously considering turning this video purely into a Three Card Monte joke haha, but of course, with a real one at the end.

New Year's Resolutions

I just finished all of the editing for my new year's resolution video - containing only goals related to my videos.  I will be releasing it tomorrow so be on the lookout for it!  Basically, I need to add some sounds in so it's not too boring haha.  For this video, I will be talking for the first time on Youtube!

Honestly, I had to try so many times to say what I wanted to say.  In fact, I made so many mistakes that I kept the better mistakes and included a bloopers section at the end of the video.  I hope you all enjoy it when it is released!  And I'll give you a fun picture now to make this post more interesting...

MONKEYS! I'm Sorry

Truthfully, I got a little carried away with excitement for New Year's and the Youtube channel.  I am currently one hour behind my normal time zone and forgot that I never changed my computer's time...  Yeah, I made the Youtube channel on December 31, 2010 instead of 1/1/11.  I apologize for this careless mistake, but I hope you all don't mind because the videos are being uploaded as I type!  All four will be up by 1:11:11 A.M.
